How I Coordinate Weddings in Cornwall and Beyond
When people hear the words wedding coordinator, they might imagine J-LO in the wedding planner, large, lavish weddings with hundreds of guests, multiple suppliers, a detailed schedule and someone running around with a clipboard and an earpiece. And, yes, I absolutely love those weddings.
The big ones are brilliant fun. There is something incredibly satisfying about bringing together a large team of suppliers, managing all the moving parts and seeing an entire wedding day come to life. But here is the thing: you do not need to be planning a huge wedding to benefit from wedding coordination.
I love an intimate wedding just as much.
Whether you are planning a small celebration for your closest people, a relaxed countryside wedding, a coastal wedding in Cornwall, a destination wedding in France or a larger, more complex celebration elsewhere, my approach is always tailored to what you actually need. Because not every couple needs the same kind of support.
Some couples need someone to take over the logistical side of their wedding entirely. Others have a venue coordinator who is managing the venue-specific details but still want someone completely on their side throughout the planning process and on the wedding day.
That is where I come in.
What does a wedding coordinator actually do?
My wedding coordination service is designed to give you practical, personal support in the lead-up to your wedding and on the day itself. I am there to make sure that the plans you have spent months creating actually happen as smoothly as possible.
That might mean liaising with suppliers, checking timings, reviewing layouts, helping with décor decisions, answering questions, managing the running order or simply being the person you can message when a thought suddenly occurs at 1am.
And yes, one of my favourite questions so far has been:
“Where can we get toilets from?”
Asked at 1am.
So, you really can ask me anything.
My role is not to make your wedding feel like a production. My role is to make sure it feels effortless.
Can I book a wedding coordinator if my venue already has a coordinator?
Absolutely.
This is something I am asked quite often, and the answer is yes.
If your wedding venue has its own coordinator, I do not come in and try to do their job. They know their venue, their team and their operational procedures better than anyone.
Instead, I adapt the way I work.
I become your PA, your sidekick and your person for the day.
The venue coordinator can focus on everything they need to manage from the venue's perspective, while I focus entirely on you, your plans and the wider wedding experience. I can be there to support you personally, liaise with your suppliers, keep an eye on the timeline, answer questions and deal with the things you do not want to have to think about.
Think of it as having someone completely on your side.
What happens after I book wedding coordination?
Once you have booked, you will be added to a dedicated WhatsApp group. This gives you a direct line to me throughout the planning process.
You can ask questions, send ideas, share updates or simply message me when you suddenly remember something that needs thinking about. There is no need to wait for a scheduled meeting to ask a question that has just popped into your head.
Whether you are wondering about supplier timings, your wedding day schedule, décor, logistics or, indeed, where to hire toilets from at an unreasonable hour, you can send it my way.
The WhatsApp group means that support is there when you need it.
Can we have a catch-up call during the planning process?
Of course.
Some couples are happy to communicate mostly through messages and emails. Others prefer to talk things through. If you need a catch-up call during the planning process, we can arrange one. Sometimes a conversation is much easier than sending 27 WhatsApp messages back and forth.
My aim is to work in a way that feels useful to you, rather than forcing every couple into exactly the same process.
Can a wedding coordinator help with our wedding timeline and room layout?
Yes.
I am very happy to look over your wedding timeline, room layouts and plans as they develop. Sometimes you simply need another pair of experienced eyes to look at everything and say:
“Have you thought about this?”
Or:
“That timing might be tighter than you think.”
Or:
“Where exactly are all of those guests going to stand while the group photographs are happening?”
This is often where coordination support becomes incredibly valuable. You may have a plan that looks perfect on paper, but wedding days have a way of revealing the practical details you might not have considered.
I can help you identify those potential pinch points before the wedding day arrives.
Can a wedding coordinator help with colours and décor?
Yes, if you would like me to.
While I am not here to take over your design vision, I am very happy to help you think through colours, décor and the overall look and feel of your wedding.
This might include discussing:
Colour palettes
Table styling
Floral arrangements
Linen and fabric choices
Candles and candle styling
Signage
Personal details
Ceremony décor
Reception layouts
How different elements work together within your venue
I love the visual side of weddings, so if you want someone to sense-check an idea or talk through how your décor could work in the space, I am very happy to help.
What happens one month before the wedding?
Around one month before your wedding, we have a proper handover meeting. This is where you can give me everything.
The supplier details. The timings. The family dynamics. The things you are worried about. The things you have been meaning to organise. The things you are convinced you have forgotten.
This is your opportunity to brain dump. And I mean everything.
We will go through the plans and gather all of the information I need to coordinate your wedding day properly. I will then take all of that information and create a comprehensive wedding coordination document.
This includes the important details your suppliers need to know, such as:
The wedding day timeline
Supplier contact information
Key timings
Set-up requirements
Ceremony details
Reception details
Room layouts
Important logistical information
Special instructions
Any relevant notes about the day
You will then have the opportunity to review and approve the document. Once you are happy with it, I send it out to the relevant suppliers.
That means everyone is working from the same information.
No supplier is working from an old timeline. No one is relying on a different version of the plan. Everyone knows what is happening, when it is happening and who is responsible for what.
Is supplier liaison included in wedding coordination?
Yes.
Supplier liaison is a key part of my role. The goal is to take as much of that communication and logistical responsibility away from you as possible. I can communicate with your suppliers, share the final information they need and make sure that everyone is aligned ahead of the wedding day.
Your suppliers should be able to focus on doing what they do best. And you should be able to focus on getting married.
Will my wedding coordinator be running around with a clipboard and earpiece?
No.
Absolutely not.
You will not find me running around your wedding with a clipboard in one hand, an earpiece in the other and a look of panic on my face. That is not my style.
I work a little differently.
My job is to make sure everything is running smoothly, but I do that as much as possible in the background. Because the moment a guest sees a stressed wedding planner, they start to wonder what is wrong. And that is not the aim of the game.
Your guests should not be worrying about whether the cake has arrived. They should not know that the florist is running ten minutes late. They should not be aware that the speeches have taken slightly longer than expected. They should simply be enjoying your wedding.
I am a huge believer in a detailed timeline. In fact, I love a precise timeline. But I also know that weddings are made up of people, and people do not always behave exactly as planned.
Someone will take longer to get ready. Someone will decide they need to find the bathroom just before the group photographs. The speeches will probably be longer than you thought. And someone will almost certainly say, “Oh, I just need to quickly speak to the bride and groom.”
So, when I help create your timeline, I do not simply fill every minute with back-to-back timings and hope for the best. I build in breathing space. I allow extra time in the places where I know people are unlikely to stick to the schedule. I think about the reality of the day, not just what looks neat on paper. I will also advise on the flow of your day. Where should your speeches sit? When is the best time to cut the cake? Do you even want a traditional cake cut? Would it work better before dinner, after dinner or alongside another part of the day? When should your guests be eating? When should they be drinking? When is the best time for photographs? When do you want the energy of the day to shift from dinner and conversation into dancing?
These decisions can have a surprisingly big impact on how your wedding feels.
My role is to help you make those decisions before the day arrives, so that everything feels natural when it happens. Then, on the day itself, I keep an eye on everything.
I check in with suppliers. I watch the timings. I make small adjustments where necessary. I communicate with the people who need to know. And, if something needs dealing with, I deal with it.
But I do not want your guests to see me frantically trying to make the day happen. I want them to see a wedding that feels effortless.
Because, ultimately, that is what good coordination should feel like.
Calm on the outside. Carefully managed behind the scenes.
What happens the day before the wedding?
The day before your wedding, you have me for four hours.
This is a really useful time.
I can assist with set-up, styling and practical preparations, depending on what you need. But, perhaps just as importantly, you can also use this time to brain dump. The day before a wedding is often when everything suddenly feels very real.
You may have questions. You may have last-minute worries. You may suddenly remember something you have been meaning to tell someone for six months. You may simply need to say:
“Can I just talk through everything with you?”
Yes.
Absolutely.
This is exactly what I am there for.
I can help you organise the final details, work through any last-minute concerns and make sure that you are not carrying every single thought around in your head the night before your wedding.
How long is a wedding coordinator there on the wedding day?
On the wedding day itself, I am there for 10 hours.
I arrive approximately three hours before your ceremony, giving me time to get settled, check in with suppliers and make sure everything is moving as it should before you need to think about anything.
I stay until just after your first dance.
If your evening food is being provided by a different caterer, I can stay until the evening food comes out instead.
The exact timings are designed to cover the parts of the day where you are most likely to need support.
What does a wedding coordinator do on the wedding day?
The answer depends on your wedding. That is the point.
If you are planning a large, complex wedding with multiple suppliers, I may be managing a detailed schedule, coordinating arrivals, overseeing set-up and making sure the entire day moves smoothly.
If your venue has its own coordinator, my role may look different.
I may be:
Checking in with suppliers
Making sure everyone knows where they need to be
Keeping an eye on the timeline
Helping with personal items
Supporting you before the ceremony
Liaising with your photographer and videographer
Helping manage transitions throughout the day
Answering questions from suppliers
Handling unexpected issues
Making sure you are where you need to be
Helping with practical details
Being the person your friends and family can come to instead of coming to you
The aim is simple:
You should not have to coordinate your own wedding while you are trying to enjoy it.
Is wedding coordination only for large weddings?
Absolutely not.
In fact, intimate weddings can sometimes benefit enormously from coordination support.
A smaller wedding does not necessarily mean a simpler wedding. You might still have a photographer, videographer, florist, caterer, musician, celebrant, transport, hair and make-up team, venue team and a whole list of personal details to manage.
The difference is often that there are fewer people to help absorb those responsibilities. With an intimate wedding, the couple can easily become the person everyone turns to.
My job is to change that.
You should not be the person answering supplier questions while getting ready. You should not be trying to find the florist while your ceremony is about to begin. You should not be keeping one eye on the timeline during your first dance.
Whether you are planning a wedding for 20 guests or 200, you deserve to actually experience the day you have spent so long creating.
Are you based in Cornwall but available for weddings elsewhere?
Yes.
I am based in Cornwall, and I absolutely love working with couples getting married here.
Cornwall has such a wonderfully varied wedding scene, from coastal celebrations and beautiful countryside venues to intimate weddings surrounded by the people who matter most.
But I am not limited to Cornwall.
I also work with couples planning weddings further afield, including destination weddings.
My next coordination job is in Paris, which is a pretty exciting example of how far a wedding can take me.
The location may change, but my approach does not.
Whether I am coordinating a wedding in Cornwall, travelling elsewhere in the UK or heading overseas, I am still there to provide the same calm, considered and personal support.
I still want to know the plan. I still want to know the suppliers. I still want to know where the potential pinch points are. I still want to build in breathing space.
And I still want to be the person quietly making sure everything is running smoothly in the background, without your guests ever needing to know there was anything to manage in the first place.
So, if you are planning a wedding in Cornwall, I would love to hear from you.
And if you are planning a wedding somewhere else entirely, do not assume that distance automatically means I cannot help.
It may just mean I get to pack my suitcase.
Why book a wedding coordinator?
Planning a wedding is exciting, but it is also a lot.
There are decisions to make, suppliers to manage, timings to consider and countless small details that need to come together. And then there is the wedding day itself. The whole point of hiring a wedding coordinator is not to remove you from your wedding.
It is to give you the freedom to be fully present in it.
I can be the person who knows the plan. The person who knows the suppliers. The person who knows what time the cake is arriving, where the candles are stored and what happens if the weather changes. The person who can answer the question before it reaches you. The person who can take a problem, solve it quietly and let you continue enjoying your day.
Sometimes I am the lead coordinator for a large, complicated wedding. Sometimes I am the person standing beside you at an intimate celebration, making sure you have everything you need. And sometimes I am simply your wedding-day sidekick.
Whatever your wedding looks like, my job is to make sure that you get to be present for it.
